Class Description
Classes designed with absolute beginners in mind.
Our street dance classes are tailored for people with no or little previous experience in dancing or street and hip-hop styles and are lead by our friendly and professional dance instructors who will warm you up, teach you basic street dance moves and grooves and at will then combine them in a routine you can practice and perform at the end of the class.
Each week you will be developing rhythm, coordination, confidence and will add more detail so that you are able to put your own attitude into the moves.
Our street dance courses are structured and goal orientated to ensure you develop and add new skills to your dance in each course.
I'm taking Ryan's beginners' class on Mondays and I'm enjoying it. You can practice the moves many times as the choreography is building up. Ryan provides plenty of feedback for you to improve and you get a video later in the week, so you can keep practising. This is a great way to work out and learn street dance.

FAQs
-
I have zero experience—is this class really for me?
Yes! Our beginner street dance classes are specifically designed for absolute beginners. We know it can be intimidating to take those first steps, so we break down every move—from basic grooves to body isolations—into simple, manageable parts. You won't be expected to do a backflip on day one; you’ll be learning the foundations in a supportive, non-judgemental space.
-
What does "Adults Only" mean for the class vibe?
It means you won’t be sharing the floor with teenagers! Our classes are strictly for adults (18+). This creates a mature, relaxed, and social atmosphere where you can let go of your inhibitions. Whether you're 25 or 55, you’ll be dancing with a like-minded group of adults who are there to have fun, de-stress, and get a great workout.
-
How is the course structured?
We run our beginner street dance lessons in a course format rather than random drop-ins. This is the best way to learn because:
Progressive Learning: The class difficulty increases progressively, so you can track your tangible progress.
Consistency: You’ll be with the same group and instructor, which builds confidence and a sense of community.
Full Repertoire: Over the duration of the course, you'll learn a routine each week but on some weeks you will review and expand on a previously taught routine, allowing you to focus on the details and learn a longer piece. In a course, you will do two to three short routines and two longer ones.
-
What happens at the end of my Street dance beginner course?
We expect most students to stay at the Beginner level for at least a year before progressing to Level 2. Street dance and Hip-Hop rely heavily on rhythm, coordination, and muscle memory—skills that take time to truly "set" in the body.
Don't worry about getting bored! Each term features a completely different syllabus and choreography. This means you will learn fresh routines and new "cool moves" every time you sign up, ensuring you stay challenged, entertained, and constantly expanding your repertoire while you master the fundamentals.
-
Would I be able to keep up?
100% yes. We specialise in teaching beginners to dance. Our street dance classes are specifically designed for adults with little or no previous experience. We don't just throw you into a fast routine; we start with a dynamic, follow-along foundation section where we practice our "grooves" and basic steps, which are the heartbeat of street dance. We then learn choreography, where our instructors break down every section of eight into simple, manageable pieces and repeat them until the whole class feels confident. Then we practice to the music and repeat the process until we build up our routine for the week. Because this is a course format, the pace is progressive, so each week, we gently increase the difficulty of the routines taught.
-
What if I miss a class?
We know London life is busy! If you’re worried about missing a session, just get in touch with us. Subject to availability, we can suggest catch-up class options within your term, across our other London locations (Soho or City) to ensure you don’t miss out on your booking.
-
Is this a good workout?
It’s a fantastic workout. You’ll be working your core, improving your coordination, and burning calories without feeling like you’re at the gym. It’s an "all-around" fitness experience that focuses on muscle strength, stamina, and—most importantly—having a blast.
-
What should I wear to my first class?
Keep it casual and comfortable!
Clothing: Loose joggers, leggings, or a T-shirt that allows you to move freely.
Footwear: Clean trainers are essential. They provide the support you need for the jumps, turns, and "footwork" variations you'll be learning.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Course fees are non-refundable. Because we run progressive courses with limited spaces, your booking secures your spot for the entire duration of the term. For more details on our policies, please see our full Terms & Conditions here.
