The first wedding dance is one of the most memorable moments of your wedding. It also is a great opportunity to discover the enjoyment of dancing together with your partner, either just learning to dance as a couple or preparing a bespoke wedding dance choreography for your special day.
Based on our extensive experience, we have found that a few 1-2-1 lessons before your wedding are typically not enough practice to make you look natural dancing with your partner. This is because the first important thing before having a bespoke choreographed dance is to learn to dance as a couple .
Our group beginners Ballroom & Latin dance courses are a great choice as they will help both your and your partner learn rhythm, coordination and the basics of dancing together in four different dances - the waltz, the tango, the jive and the cha-cha. Following that you may or may not choose to have some 1-2-1 sessions before your big day.
Check out the schedule for our upcoming group beginner ballroom & latin dance courses for beginners below.

FAQs
-
Why should we choose a group course instead of a private "crash course"?
The first dance is one of the most memorable moments of your wedding, but it can also be the most stressful if you haven't mastered the basics. Our Group Beginner Ballroom & Latin courses help you and your partner develop:
True Coordination: Learning how to move together as one unit.
Rhythm & Musicality: Understanding how to hear the beat in any song.
Versatility: You’ll learn four distinct styles—the Waltz, Tango, Jive, and Cha-Cha—giving you a toolkit of moves for the entire wedding reception, not just the first three minutes.
-
Can we book private 1-2-1 lessons for our wedding dance?
At this time, we do not offer private lessons. Based on our extensive experience, we have found that a few 1-2-1 sessions are typically not enough to make a couple look natural on the dance floor. The most important step before a choreographed dance is simply learning to dance as a couple. Our group courses provide the consistent practice and technical foundation you need to look effortless and connected on your big day.
-
We have a specific song in mind; will a group course help?
Absolutely. Most wedding songs fall into one of the four styles we teach (Waltz, Tango, Jive, or Cha-Cha). By joining a group course first, you learn the "language" of that dance style. Once you have the basics down, you’ll find that you can naturally adapt those moves to your chosen song without needing a rigid, stressful choreography. You can always email us your song and we can advise which dance style it is best suited for.
-
Is this course only for people getting married?
Not at all! While it is a popular choice for wedding dance classes in London, our courses are for any couple looking to discover the enjoyment of dancing together. It’s a fantastic way to spend quality time together, stay active, and learn a new skill in a social, welcoming environment.
-
We have "two left feet"—will we be able to keep up in a group?
Yes. Our Beginner Ballroom & Latin courses are designed specifically for couples with zero previous experience. We break down the lead-and-follow dynamic from scratch. Because you are in a group with other beginners, the atmosphere is supportive and low-pressure. You’ll progress together, building confidence each week.
-
What happens if we still want a bespoke choreography after the course?
The group course is your "Phase 1." It builds the muscle memory and coordination you need. Once you have completed the course and can dance comfortably as a couple, you will be in a much better position to refine your own moves or seek out bespoke styling. However, most of our couples find they are so confident by the end of the term that they are ready to own the dance floor on their own!
-
What should we wear to our Ballroom & Latin sessions?
You don't need to wear your wedding attire! We recommend:
Clothing: Comfortable, everyday clothes that allow for movement.
Footwear: Smooth-soled shoes (not too grippy) or clean trainers. For the leaders, shoes with a slight heel can be helpful, but comfort is the priority while you are learning.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Course fees are non-refundable. Because our couples' courses are structured progressively and spaces are limited, your booking secures your spot for the full duration of the term. For more details on our policies, please see our full Terms & Conditions here.
