Our Improver Swing dance courses follow on from what was covered in our Level 1 Swing classes.
You will cover some new steps, passes and turn patterns, whilst improving your leading and following in the process of becoming a smoother and natural looking dancer.
Our Swing classes run in progressive courses, which means that in each course you will benefit from a program designed to help you progress quicker.

What style of swing do you teach?
Our swing classes in London focus specifically on East Coast Swing. This is a high-energy, 6-count social dance that is incredibly fun and famous for being the most beginner-friendly style in the swing family. If you love big band music, 50s rock ‘n’ roll, or upbeat jazz, this is the perfect course to get you moving.
-
How is East Coast Swing different from other swing classes in London?
While many swing classes London offers might focus on complex Lindy Hop, we specialize in East Coast Swing because it is easier to pick up in a short amount of time. It uses a "triple-step" rhythm that works perfectly on a crowded social dance floor. It’s the ideal "starter" swing dance for anyone who wants to look great without months of technical training.
-
Do I need a partner to join your swing classes?
No partner is required! Our swing classes London sessions are highly social. We rotate partners throughout the class so you get to meet new people and learn how to "lead and follow" with different dancers. Of course, if you’re coming with a partner and prefer to stay together, you are more than welcome to do so.
-
I have zero experience—can I still join?
Absolutely. Our progressive course is built for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics—the "Rock Step"—and build your confidence week by week. You don’t need "natural rhythm" to start; our instructors are experts at helping everyone find the beat in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
-
What should I wear to a swing class?
You don't need vintage outfits! For our swing classes, we recommend:
Clothing: Comfortable, breathable clothes (T-shirts, jeans, or leggings). Swing is an active dance, so expect to get a little warm!
Footwear: Flat, comfortable shoes are essential. Keds, Toms, or smooth-soled trainers are perfect. Avoid heavy boots or high heels, as they make the quick footwork much harder to execute.
-
How long does it take to learn the basics?
Because of our progressive course structure, you’ll be able to dance a basic sequence by the end of your very first lesson. By the end of the course, you’ll have a "toolkit" of turns, spins, and kicks that will make you feel confident at any wedding, party, or vintage event in London.
-
Where are the classes held?
Our swing classes London locations are chosen for their central locations and professional dance floors. We hold our sessions in studios near major Tube hubs to make it easy for you to join us straight after work.
-
What happens if I miss a session of my progressive course?
We know London life can be unpredictable! If you miss a week, please get in touch. Since our courses are progressive, we can often suggest ways for you to catch up so you stay in sync with the rest of the group for the following week.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Course fees are non-refundable. Because we run progressive courses with limited spaces, your booking secures your spot for the entire duration of the term. For more details on our policies, please see our full Terms & Conditions here.
